The Kindergarten group did a really awesome ceramic project called "Open Hands, Open Hearts." Overall, it went great.  The only not-so-good thing is that the clear glaze fired a little weird and the palms of most of the hands are cloudy.
Regardless, they look pretty nice! The students all started with a slab of clay and traced hand templates to cut out of the slab.  Then, using tools, they carved hearts and other patterns into the clay hand.  When finished, they placed them to dry in Styrofoam bowls.  After fired, the students painted them with underglazes.  We coated them with clear glaze which turned out cloudy.
The students had a lot of fun making these and were really excited about the end results!
